HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 c211W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the total amounts and costs of all imported foods for the nearest date to June, 1970 and at the latest most convenient stated date; and to what extent, on the basis of the floating of the £ sterling raising the costs of these imports by 1 per cent., 2 per cent., 3 per cent. and 4 per cent., respectively, there will be an estimated rise in the total costs of these imports of food.

Mr. Prior

Information on the volume and value of food and live animals imported each month is published in Section O of Tables II and III of the Overseas Trade Statistics of the United Kingdom. As to the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave yesterday to the hon. Member for Blaydon (Mr. Woof).—[Vol. 840, c.159.]
