HC Deb 05 July 1972 vol 840 cc146-7W
Sir G. Nabarro

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, having regard to increased parking meter charges, what estimate for 1972–73 he has made of aggregate revenue in the United Kingdom from all parking meters; how this compares with 1970–71 and 1971–72, all expressed correct to £1 million; and what changes he contemplates in meter arrangements.

Mr. Peyton

I have made no estimate nor comparisons. The revenue from parking meters is a matter for local authorities. I am not contemplating any changes in the general arrangements.
