HC Deb 04 July 1972 vol 840 c60W
23. Mr. Sydney Chapman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many complaints of alleged unfair dismissal have been made to industrial tribunals since 28th February; and, in cases which have now been determined, how many complaints have been upheld.

Mr. Chichester-Clark

In the period 28th February to 26th May, 1,757 applications were made direct to industrial tribunals concerning complaints by alleged unfair dismissal, and were referred to my Department's conciliation officers to attempt a settlement. Information on the outcome of cases heard is not yet available, but I will, with permission, publish in the Official REPORT a table showing how these complaints were dealt with.
