asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of unfilled vacancies in the distributive trades in the North-West, Northern Region, Yorkshire and Humberside and Scotland at the most recent date.

At 7th June the numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled in the distributive trades in the North-West, Northern and Yorkshire and Humberside regions, and in Scotland, were 2,652, 1,301, 1994 and 1,423, respectively. The figures relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not the hon. Member for Doncaster (Mr. Harold Walker) on 22nd June, 1972. The following list gives, in so far as it is available, the information not included in that reply.—[Vol. 839, c. 160–2.]
