§ Mr. Madelasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, following representations made to him by the hon. Member for Bedfordshire, South, he will now introduce a speed limit in the village of Slip End, Bedfordshire.
§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsIt is for Bedfordshire County Council to determine the speed limit at Slip End. My Department's advice continues to be available to the council, if it wishes it, and I would be glad to explain to my hon. Friend the principles on which that advice is based.
