§ Mr. O'Halloranasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfield with the workings of the Clean Air Act as far as greater London is concerned; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsThe Act is working well. Fifteen out of 33 local authorities in London have completed their programme and at the end of 1971 86 per cent. of all premises were covered by orders. My right hon. Friend will not, however, be satisfied until smoke control is complete throughout greater London and, indeed, throughout the black areas of the country.
