HC Deb 18 December 1972 vol 848 c269W
Mr. Hayhoe

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what arrangements have been made to meet the costs of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration in connection with Asian United Kingdom passport holders expelled from Uganda going to Latin America.

Mr. Wood

Her Majesty's Government have agreed to meet the costs incurred by the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration on the selection, maintenance, transport and reception of United Kingdom passport holders going to Latin America, in so far as these costs are not met by contributions from other Governments. An advance of £41,000 for initial expenses has been obtained from the Contingencies Fund. Parliament will be asked later to approve the necessary supplementary expenditure.
