The Attorney-General

One hundred per cent. A fund is transferred to dormant funds only when no further dealing with it is expected. The total value of the funds is given in my later answer to the hon. Member.

Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Attorney-General (1) what is the total amount of dormant funds under the control of the Supreme Court of England;

(2) what was the total capital amount of dormant funds under the control of the Supreme Court of England in each of the years 1966 to 1972.

The Attorney-General

The total capital value of dormant funds in each of the years 1966 to 1972 was as follows:

Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Attorney-General what is the approximate percentage of dormant funds under the control of the Supreme Court of England which does not exceed £50, £100 and £150, respectively.

The Attorney-General

Accounts not exceeding £50 in value form 6 per cent. of the total value of the funds held. Exact percentages are not available for accounts of higher value, but the majority probably do not exceed £150.

Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Attorney-General what is the average size of dormant funds under the control of the Supreme Court of England.

The Attorney-General

The figure obtained by dividing the total value of the dormant funds by the number of known accounts is approximately £400. A more accurate figure cannot be given.
