55. Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT details of average earnings at the latest convenient date in the Portsmouth area as compared with those in the South-East Region as a whole and the United Kingdom as a whole; and whether he will make a statement on particular job categories where earnings compare adversely with those in other provincial centers.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT details of the unemployment rate in Portsmouth at 31st July, 1972, as compared with that in the South-East region as a whole and the United Kingdom as a whole.

At 10th July, the percentage rates of unemployment for the Portsmouth travel-to-work area, the South-East region and the United Kingdom were 3.0, 1.9 and 3.7, respectively.
