§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the proposed new power station to be built in the Highlands; and what will be the means of generation.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellTo provide adequate supplies of electricity in the North-East of Scotland a new station will be required to be generating there by the winter of 1978–79. The Scottish Electricity Boards' brochure "Plans for the Future 1971–78", copies of which were placed in the Vote Office in January, indicated that the North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board has in mind either a nuclear station at Stake Ness, Banffshire, or an oil-fired station near Peterhead. A decision on the type of station to be built has still to be made.
