§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the independent mineral survey report that was commissioned by the Highlands and Islands Development Board, a copy of which is in his possession, and state what minerals were found to have commercial possibilities.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe reports which the Board has received from its consultants show that there are a number of mineral occurrences and deposits which would appear to justify further evaluation by mining companies, although it is not possible at this stage to assess the commercial possibilities. The Board announced the results of these studies last month, and at the same time informed mining companies and journals.
