§ Mr. KershawThis visit arose from a decision made by the United Nations' Special Committee on the Situation with Regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples ("Committee of 24") of which the United Kingdom is not a member. The United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution 2795 (XXVI),inter alia, noted the Committee of 24's proposal with satisfaction. The United Kingdom voted against this resolution.
