§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, from information available from international sources, how much the proportion of the national income of the Netherlands devoted to capital expenditure on education increased between 1960 and the most recent year for which statistics are available; and how this compares with the figure for the United Kingdom over the same period.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeBetween 1960 and 1967, the percentage of gross national product increased from 1.3 to 1.5 in the Netherlands and from 1.0 to 1.3 in the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom figures correct an Answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Blackpool, North (Mr. Miscampbell) on 7th April, 1971, when the figures were incorrectly recorded as 0.6 and 1.0.
