HC Deb 11 April 1972 vol 834 c138W
33. Sir D. Walker-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will give favourable consideration to the representations made to him from East Hertfordshire, and in particular by the Ware Rural District Council, as to the possible future use of Ware Park Hospital for the mentally handicapped; and if he will make a statement as to the future use of the premises.

Sir K. Joseph

This hospital has been difficult to staff and the regional board considers that it could not readily be adapted to provide a homely environment for mentally handicapped patients. The board is considering the disposal of the hospital.
