§ Mr. Barnesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people have been refused supplementary benefit during the last 12 months because their total resources, though below the supplementary benefit level, are above the level at which they have been wage-stopped.
§ Mr. Barnesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the automatic adjustment for the family income supplement made in the cases of those wage-stopped and in receipt of supplementary benefit extends to those refused supplementary benefit because their total resources, though below the supplementary benefit level, are above the level at which they have been wage-stopped.
153W
§ Mr. DeanSince records are not kept of such cases an automatic adjustment cannot be made. All claimants who are refused benefit are, however, told that they can make a fresh claim at any time and those dealt with after the announcement of the family income supplement increases would be advised about their future entitlement.
