HC Deb 11 April 1972 vol 834 c161W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will institute an inquiry to ascertain how many registered unemployed persons are unable to work due to their suffering from agoraphobia.

Mr. Dudley Smith

People who are unable to work are not registered as unemployed persons with my Department. Information about the total number of people with agoraphobia who are capable of work and are registered with the Department is not readily available, but such people are known individually to our disablement resettlement officers and I consider therefore that no useful purpose would be served by making a special count.
