HC Deb 30 November 1971 vol 827 c91W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he is aware that the Table Office are overworked and understaffed in dealing with the Parliamentary Questions connected with entry into the Common Market, and in particular with the 1,500 rules, regulations and edicts of the Community; and if he will recommend an increase in the establishment of the Clerk's Department to permit an increase in the staff in this office.

Mr. Whitelaw

The staff of all the offices in the House are kept constantly under review. If an increase is necessary, extra staff will be recruited through the normal procedure.
