HC Deb 22 November 1971 vol 826 cc279-80W
Mr. Hicks

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list those countries with whom the United Kingdom has reciprocal agreements to cover claims for industrial injuries submitted by British subjects when employed by their companies overseas, and name those countries with whom the United Kingdom is at present negotiating similar reciprocal agreements.

Mr. Dean

The countries with which we have made such arrangements are:

  • Jersey
  • Guernsey
  • Cyprus
  • Malta
  • Bermuda
  • The Irish Republic
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • The Federal Republic of Germany
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • The Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey
  • Yugoslavia
A reciprocal social security Agreement with Austria which includes similar arrangements has been signed but awaits ratification. Negotiations are also taking place with Canada, Jamaica and Spain which it is hoped will lead to the conclusion of Agreements with these countries incorporating industrial injuries reciprocity.
