HC Deb 22 November 1971 vol 826 c280W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list all those areas in each of the Department's regions where the four-week rule is not at present being operated in full.

Mr. Dean

As the hon. Member knows awards are not limited at the outset of claims made in Scotland and Wales and in the Northern, Yorkshire and Humberside and two North Western Regions of England.

Of the 213 offices in the remainder of England, there are 71 where the four-week rule is not operated at all and in the following areas the rule is modified by limiting the age range covered: Brighton, Chatham, Dover, Folkestone, Hastings, Havant and Hove.
