§ Mr. Normantonasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the estimated value of industrial wage settlements made by employers conditional upon there being a period of no strikes; and whether he will list the agreements of this kind made since 18th June, 1970.
§ Mr. BryanI am aware of no such settlements although undertakings in various forms covering the period of a settlement are often incorporated in agreements. Their value depends on the willingness and ability of the unions concerned to see that they are honoured.
