HC Deb 25 May 1971 vol 818 c63W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many extra persons he estimates will be in receipt of old-age retirement pensions and supplementary allowances when the increased pensions are implemented in September.

Mr. Dean

About 50,000 non-pensioners over 80, will become entitled to retirement pensions as a result of the September changes. We estimate that the number of persons receiving supplementary pension will be about 30,000 fewer after all the increases are implemented.
