asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs which Commonwealth countries in Africa will receive technical assistance from the United Kingdom under the Supply Estimates, Class II, Vote 5, Subhead C(1), in 1971–72; and what is the estimated value of the assistance to each country.

Expenditure on technical assistance in the Commonwealth countries of Africa in 1971–72 is likely to follow much the same pattern (though possibly on a somewhat increased scale) as in 1970–71, when disbursements are estimated to have been as follows:
