HC Deb 04 May 1971 vol 816 c297W
14. Mr. Hardy

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the number of cases of malnutrition diagnosed in England and Wales in the last quarter of 1970.

Mr. Alison

The various manifestations of malnutrition are too variable in nature and degree to be capable of notification. The findings of the programme of surveillance advised by the Department's Chief Medical Officer's Committee on Medical aspects of Food Policy have to date indicated that its prevelance is low.
