Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable, Cumbria Forces, asking how many women have been assaulted in the city of Carlisle during the past 12 months, the nature of their injuries, how many persons have been apprehended, and what action the police are taking to combat this.

Fourteen of whom four were victims of robbery. Of those assaulted three were injured, one seriously. Three arrests have been made so far. All forces have been asked to look out for the man who caused the serious injury, and special patrols have been set up in the area where the crime was committed.
