HC Deb 25 March 1971 vol 814 c174W
60. Mr. Weitzman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he has received advice from the National Advisory Council necessary to the training of persons concerned with placing disabled persons in employment or training disabled persons for employment; and whether, and in what way, he has acted on such advice.

Mr. Dudley Smith

The training of members of my Department concerned with the employment of disabled people has always been discussed by the National Advisory Council on the Employment of the Disabled. The Council advises on special medical courses for the general instruction of staff concerned with the employment problems of people with particular disabilities. The recently revised training programme for disablement resettlement officers will come before the next meeting of the Council.
