HC Deb 19 March 1971 vol 813 cc418-9W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a comprehensive study of the process of hospital admissions, waiting lists and review procedure in connection with adenotonsillectomy, with a view to shortening the waiting period for those urgently needing operations and to ensuring the regular review of other cases rather than placing them on waiting lists.

Mr. Alison

The priority accorded to individual patients is a matter for clinical judgment in which my right hon. Friend would not seek to intervene. We are, however, considering whether the management of waiting lists for adenotonsillectomy calls for any special arrangements.
