HC Deb 18 March 1971 vol 813 cc380-1W
Mr. Coleman

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the attitude of Her Majesty's Government towards Resolution 466 on the organisation of a Third Parliamentary and Scientific Conference, adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 20th January, 1971; and whether she, with her advisers, will attend this conference and vote the necessary financial means in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Mr. Scott-Hopkins

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she accepts Resolution 466 on the organisation of a 3rd Parliamentary and Scientific Conference, adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 20th January, 1971; and whether she will contribute to this conference by the participation of governmental experts and vote the necessary financial means in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

Mrs. Thatcher

This proposal will be sympathetically examined when an invitation has been received and can he studied by Her Majesty's Government. The provision of any necessary finance would be a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
