HC Deb 16 March 1971 vol 813 cc272-3W
56. Mr. Fowler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received about the allocation of resources to the Sheffield hospital region; and whether he will make a statement.

Sir K. Joseph

I have no representations but I have had informal discussions with the Sheffield Regional Hospital Board. As I indicated in my reply to my hon. Friend, the Member for Rushcliffe (Mr. Kenneth Clarke) on 23rd February, annual revenue allocations to regional hospital boards are now made on a basis designed to reduce inequalities of financial provision without disrupting the services in the regions which are at present better off.—[Vol. 812, c.295.]
