HC Deb 11 March 1971 vol 813 c151W
48 and 49. Dame Patricia Hornsby-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many industrial training boards cater for women in their programmes of training;

(2) how many women and girls have been accepted for training board schemes; in which industries are they accepted; and what proportion of acceptances for training in these industries have been allocated to women and girls.

Mr. Bryan

The grant schemes of industrial training boards apply without distinction to men and women. The further information requested is not available but between 1968 and 1970 the proportion of women employees under training increased substantially and is now near the corresponding figure for males.
