HC Deb 09 March 1971 vol 813 cc63-4W
48. Mr. John Fraser

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what consideration has been given by his Central Policy Review Staff to the effect on inflation of the removal of subsidies by different Government Departments.

Mr. Maurice Macmillan

The economic effects of removing subsidies are, of course, taken into account, and for this and other purposes the Government have access to a wide range of economic advice, including that of the Central Policy Review Staff.
