§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Lord President of the Council whether he will move for a minimum of four hours and a maximum of eight hours to be allowed to discuss every rule, regulation, article and other enactment already agreed to and in operation under the rules of the European Economic Community which Great Britain will have to adopt before entry into the Common Market can be effective.
§ Mr. WhitelawI have already assured the House—[OFFICIAL REPORT, 24th March, c. 529]—that adequate opportunity will be provided for Parliament to debate the implications of the Instrument of Accession. The detailed arrangements will need to be discussed through the usual channels at a later stage.
§ Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Lord President of the Council whether he will arrange for Members to be supplied with more than the usual one free copy of the White Paper on the Common Market.
§ Mr. WhitelawIn view of the exceptional importance of this document, Mr. Speaker has authorised arrangements whereby Members may order 12 additional free copies of the White Paper through the Vote Office.
