Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Lord President of the Council why he will not, as a means of assisting the Government in its policy of reducing prices, and to see how this can best be done, move to appoint a select committee whose duty it will be to investigate and report on all matters pertaining to retail prices and the best method of controlling and reducing them.
