§ Mr. Anthony StodartA study this year by the Food Additives and Contaminants Committee of heavy metals, including mercury, will allow it to consider copper also. Copper is, however, an essential constituent of the human diet and when the Committee last considered the levels present in food, it found no cause for concern. I have no evidence that the situation has changed.
