§ Mr. RidleyIt is for each industry to decide whether and when to adopt metric units for its own purpose, and in selecting the date for the adoption of the metric system the imported timber trade had regard to the metrication programme of its major customer the construction industry. Other industries involved are well aware of the position and are considering the effect on them of these changes.
