HC Deb 26 February 1971 vol 812 cc294-5W
Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he proposes to alter the composition of the Panel of Inquiry into the Greater London Development Plan.

Mr. Peter Walker

In view of Professor James' absence from the panel through illness, I am appointing Professor Edgar Rose, Professor of Town and Country Planning at the University of Aston in Birmingham, as an additional member of the panel so that he may sit with it on the resumption of the inquiry on 3rd March.

It is clearly important for the panel to have the benefit of the views of an environmental planner during the hearing of the transport matters with which it is now dealing.
