HC Deb 08 February 1971 vol 811 c16W
93. Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many new jobs he expects to be created in the Yorkshire coalfield in 1971 and 1972, and how many of these will be for men.

Sir J. Eden

8,160 jobs, 4,340 of them for males, are expected to arise over the next four years in the Yorkshire coalfield intermediate area in authorised new industrial buildings and in existing buildings taken over by manufacturing industry. This is based on estimates provided by the firms concerned. It is not possible to say how many of these will arise during the next two years.
