§ 57. Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many requests for industrial development certificates were submitted from the Portsmouth area during the past 12 months; how many were granted; and how many additional job vacancies these represented.
§ Sir J. EdenIn the period 1st January to 31st December, 1970, 26 industrial development certificates were issued in the Portsmouth Travel to Work Area—the Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham and Havant Employment Exchange Areas—which the applicants for the certificates estimate will provide an additional 1,030 jobs when fully manned. In the same period five applications were refused.
§ 58. Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will pay an official visit to Portsmouth.
