HC Deb 08 February 1971 vol 811 c7W
56. Mr. Rost

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many complaints have been lodged in each of the past three years about noise nuisance from residents affected by the flight paths from the East Midlands Airport; what replies have been sent; and what action is being taken to reduce this noise pollution.

Mr. Noble

The Department received complaints from one person in 1968, two in 1969 and five in 1970. The complainants were advised to take the matter up with the airport owners who are responsible for measures to reduce noise in the vicinity of the airport.
