Mr. Fred Evansasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether, in view of the need to retain in Wales a pool of skilled engineering labour, he will take steps to induce a machine tool production unit to take over the factory of Cardiff Machine Tools Limited when the proposed closure of that factory Occurs.
§ Sir J. EdenThe disposal of the factory is a matter for the owner, but the Department will do its best to interest suitable firms in it.
