HC Deb 08 February 1971 vol 811 c36W
Mr. John Fraser

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about his official discussions in London with interested parties about the import of bananas and the effect of any changes in the present pattern of trade upon the economies of Jamaica and the Windward Islands.

Mr. Kershaw

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply of 25th January to the hon. Member for Portsmouth, West (Mr. Judd). Those talks included discussions with Ministers from the Windward Islands. I am fully aware of the importance of bananas to the economies of the Windward Islands and Jamaica.—[Vol. 810, c.14.]
