§ The Attorney-GeneralAs a result of the Assizes Order 1970, which came into operation on 1st January, 1971, assizes are no longer held for the administrative counties of Buckingham, Hereford, Huntingdon and Peterborough, Rutland and Westmorland. Assizes were held regularly in each of these counties at least twice a year until the end of 1970.
