94. Mr. George Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many nurses have been recruited for the University Hospital of Wales and Cardiff; controls over the conveyance by road of further classes of dangerous substances.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will seek powers to require the owner of a vehicle carrying any dangerous liquid to notify immediately any accident involving the vehicle which gives rise to spillage of the liquid on to the road or into ditches and drains.

Mr. Sharples

The notification of leakages of all kinds is being considered as part of the controls to be introduced in due course over the operation of vehicles carrying inflammable and corrosive liquids.
