Mr. Bob Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will state the number of unemployed in Newcastle- upon-Tyne in the Newburn Urban District Council area and in the Northern Region, respectively, at the latest available date; how this number compares with a like period 12 months ago; and if he will give a comparison on a percentage basis with the national average.
