HC Deb 04 August 1971 vol 822 c324W
Mr. John

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) whether he is satisfied with the arrangements for supplying explanatory material by his Department to Post Offices; and what representations he has received upon this;

(2) what shortages of leaflets, pamphlets or other publications explaining entitlements to benefits have been experienced by his Department recently; what areas of the country these affected; and what were the causes of such shortages.

Mr. Dean

We have only received isolated representations on difficulty in obtaining explanatory material from post offices earlier in the summer. I am not aware of any shortages now of such material available for the general public, either in post offices or in local Social Security offices.
