asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many building industry workpeople were unemployed in Wales at the latest available date; and how this figure compares with that for the previous five years.

There were 9,254 people registered at 5th April as unemployed in Wales who last worked in the construction industry.

The comparable figures for the previous five years were:

5,247 in 1966; 9,028 in 1967; 8,971 in 1968; 9,215 in 1969 and 8,969 in 1970.
