Mrs. Joyce Butlerasked the Prime Minister whether he will co-ordinate the work of the Department of Health and Social Security and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food so that, when Government decisions result in increases in food prices, there is an immediate compensating increase in social security payments.
§ The Prime MinisterThere is already close co-ordination between all Departments concerned with reviewing the level of social security benefits to ensure that they take account of changes in the cost of living, including food price movements.
