HC Deb 30 October 1970 vol 805 c223W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on his recent discussions in London with Prince Souvanna Phouma, of Laos.

Mr. Anthony Royle

My right hon. Friend discussed the situation in South-East Asia. He was particularly interested to hear Prince Souvanna's views on the problems of Laos, which, as the House knows, spring mainly from the continuing presence and activity of large numbers of North Vietnamese troops, in contravention of the 1962 Geneva Agreement on Laos. He assured the Prince of Her Majesty's Government's continuing support for himself and his Government in their difficult situation.
