HC Deb 30 October 1970 vol 805 cc223-4W
Mr. Milne

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will undertake to discuss with this country's partners in the European Free Trade Association the question of the fishing industry and fishing limits prior to talks on this matter arising from Great Britain's application to join the European Economic Community.

Two of our E.F.T.A. partners, both with large fishery interests, are also applying to join the European Communities. We are already in touch with them, as we are with other E.F.T.A. countries, on matters of mutual interest arising from our application to join the European Communities.

Mr. Rippon

I would refer the hon. Member to the Answer given by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to the hon. Member for Kingston upon Hull, West (Mr. James Johnson) on 27th October. [Vol. 805, c.68.]
