HC Deb 30 October 1970 vol 805 cc225-6W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations have been made to him by the Magistrates' Association regarding the need to make operative the payment of loss of earnings allowances to magistrates and the abolition of the present limit governing the payment of subsistence allowances as provided for in the Justices of the Peace Act, 1968; and what action he proposes to take to implement the Act.

Mr. Carlisle

The Magistrates' Association has represented to my right hon. Friend its desire for the early implementation of the legislation referred to. This is being considered, but he is not yet able to make a statement.
