HC Deb 29 October 1970 vol 805 c194W
107. Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what reply he has received to the representations made to the Government of the Irish Republic regarding the supply of arms from the Republic to unauthorised persons in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Anthony Royle

As I informed my hon. Friend the Member for Londonderry (Mr. Chichester-Clark) on 27th October, Her Majesty's Ambassador in Dublin has taken up with the Irish Republic Government certain statements on this subject made during the recent arms conspiracy trial.

I do not think it would be helpful to give details of what passed between Her Majesty's Ambassador and the Irish Republic Authorities. The exchanges were confidential.—[Vol. 805, c. 69–70.]
